About the Artist

Randall E. Messina is a retired police officer and a self-taught artist whose creative journey began at the tender age of twelve. From those early stirrings of inspiration, his hands have been drawn to nearly every artistic medium, each one becoming a vessel for beauty, and expression.

With a deep love for realism, Randall has created striking works across a wide range of subjects, from peaceful landscapes and timeless still-life’s to gorgeous personal pet portraits. His favored mediums include soft pastels, oil paints, pencil, acrylic, and even pottery. Among these, pastels hold a special place in his heart, allowing him to bring color and life together in a way that feels almost breathed onto the canvas or paper.

As an ordained Christian minister, one of Randall’s most cherished and comforting messages is the assurance that those who walk with Christ in this life will one day be joyfully reunited, not only with loved ones, but also with the faithful pets who shared their earthly journey. This message of hope is tenderly and biblically expressed in his recent book, Pets In Heaven-Divine Verdict.

“There is nothing more rewarding than completing a pet portrait and placing it into the hands of a client, only to witness their eyes fill with tears of love and joy.” —Randall E. Messina
